Selena Gomez has come out to express her gratitude for Francia Raísa, calling her her “best friend” in a recent episode of Apple TV+'s “Dear…”. Raisa donated a kidney to Gomez more than five years ago to help with her Lupus battle.
Gomez called Raísa’s selfless act "unbelievably overwhelming" and said she felt "watched over" when they discovered they were a match. Since the donation, Gomez and Raísa have received matching tattoos with the date of the transplant.
"I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia," Gomez said. "The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”
