Luke Bryan is coming to the defense of his fellow American Idol judge, Katy Perry, after her controversial kiss with 19-year-old contestant Benjamin Glaze on Idol's season debut. During the episode, Glaze admitted to the judges that he'd never kissed anyone before, prompting Perry to ask for an innocent peck on the cheek. Katy then asked for a second kiss and unexpectedly turned her head, causing the smooch to land on the lips. Benjamin later conveyed that the kiss made him uncomfortable, telling the New York Times he was saving his first kiss and wanted it to be special. Now, Bryan is coming out in support of Perry, telling Australia's The Morning Show that he thinks it's "unfortunate that stuff like that turns into a story that big." Luke then said of his Idol cohort, "You know she's in there working hard and making fun TV. And you know what, we're gonna get it right sometimes and get it wrong sometimes."
