After being dominated by Sam Hunt's single "Body Like a Back Road" for the past 34 straight weeks, Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart finally has a new No. 1. Hunt's cross-over hit has been unseated by Kane Brown's song "What Ifs," featuring Lauren Alaina, giving Brown and Alaina their first career No. 1 on that chart. Alaina, who topped the Country Airplay chart earlier this year with "Road Less Traveled," also becomes the only woman to summit the Hot Country Songs chart at all in 2017. When Kane was asked about dethroning Sam's song, he told Billboard, "34 weeks, Sam Hunt? Damn. I'm happy to get in there."
Earlier this year, "Body Like A Back Road" broke the chart's previous 24-week record that was set by Florida Georgia Line’s "Cruise" in 2013.
