In his interview with HLN's Robin Meade, Kenny Chesney also revealed that his home on the island of St John in U.S. Virgin Islands was destroyed during Hurricane Irma. Kenny says more than 20 people and 10 dogs were sheltering in his home at the time the hurricane hit, but thankfully everyone is okay. Chesney says they thought that since the home was made out of structurally sound materials like stone and concrete it would make a good shelter, but the strength of Irma was too great. Despite the home's windows being tested to withstand winds of up to 200 miles per hour, Kenny says all of them were blown out in the storm. When asked about his house, Chesney said, "It’s just simply gone."
· Kenny says he will rebuild the house, but not before everyone else affected rebuilds.
· Chesney says he plans to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands to see everything firsthand, but he will wait until after Hurricane Jose passes.
