The Grand Ole Opry has pulled out all the stops to mark the historic total solar eclipse that will pass through Nashville on Monday (8/21). The celebration began with five shows over the weekend, including two separate Sunday night (8/20) concerts featuring performances from Little Big Town, Darius Rucker, Wynonna, Charles Esten and The Sisterhood. Good Morning America’s chief meteorologist Ginger Zee and The Weather Channel’s Jen Carfagno also participated in the Opry’s guest announcer series on Sunday evening before covering the eclipse throughout the day on Monday.
· The Opry’s eclipse celebration continues Monday with a Total Eclipse Plaza Party featuring Levon and Ashley McBryde. In addition to live music on the Plaza stage, fans can expect an array of themed food and drink, including BBQ and a specialty eclipse cocktail.
· The Opry will feature a Nashville Total Eclipse soundtrack to accompany the approximately two minutes of eclipse totality in the Plaza.
· Also marking the total eclipse, Monday's Opry House Backstage Tours are set to recognize Opry artists whose career achievements have eclipsed all others in their field.
