Jana Kramer gave an emotional speech during Safe Horizon's recent Champion Awards in New York City, where she was on hand to accept the Voice of Empowerment Award for speaking out against domestic violence. Kramer teared up as she recounted the abuse she endured at the hands of her first husband Michael Gambino, which sent him to prison in 2005 for attempted murder.
Before attending the Champion Awards, Jana visited a Safe Horizon domestic violence shelter in New York City and reflected on the children she met there and how grateful she is that Safe Horizon provides a safe space for children.
