Dan + Shay are toasting to 2018 with a fresh shot of “Tequila.”
The country duo has unveiled their new single, which borrows its title from the Mexican alcoholic beverage, will be the first taste of their forthcoming third studio album.
“When I taste tequila/Baby, I still see ya,” Shay sings in track’s chorus. “Sorority T-shirt/The same one you wore when we were/Sky high in Colorado/Lips pressed against the bottle/Swearin' on the Bible/Baby, I'd never leave ya/I remember how bad I need ya/When I taste tequila.”
The mid-tempo track about a lost love was written by Dan + Shay's Dan Smyers with Jordan Reynolds and Nicolle Galyon.
The song follows the duo’s two No. 1 singles, “From the Ground Up” and “How Not To,” from their 2016 album Obsessed.
Look for a new album from Dan + Shay later this year.
