This bottle of whisky sold for $2.7 million dollars Saturday. The Macallan Adami 1926 was expected to fetch $1.5 million dollars, but hauled in a whopping 2.7 mil.
Only 40 bottles were made after the whisky aged in sherry casks for 60 years.
"The Macallan 1926 is the one whisky that every auctioneer wants to sell and every collector wants to own," Jonny Fowle of Sotheby's said.
The whisky contains notes of rich dark fruits, black cherry compote, and sticky dates.
