Sagar Tudu, a 22-year-old YouTuber from Berhampur, was tragically swept away by a waterfall while filming a drone video at Duduma Waterfall in Odisha's Koraput district on Saturday (August 23). The incident occurred when Tudu waded into the river to capture dramatic footage, unaware of the sudden release of water from the Machkund Dam due to heavy rainfall, which caused the river level to rise rapidly. A viral video shows Tudu standing on a rock, surrounded by torrents of water, as onlookers attempted to throw a rope to rescue him. However, the strong current proved too powerful, and he was swept away.

Local authorities, including police, fire crews, and the State Disaster Response Force, launched a large-scale search operation, but by Sunday evening, only Tudu's bag containing filming equipment had been recovered. Tudu's YouTube channel, which focused on photography and the culture of Odisha, had nearly 500 subscribers.

The incident has sparked concerns about safety at Duduma Waterfall, known for its powerful currents, especially during heavy rains. The waterfall, which is nearly 500-feet high, is a popular tourist destination. The tragedy has led to discussions about the risks associated with such locations and the need for increased safety measures.
