Alan Jackson shared a sweet family photo on Monday afternoon (July 1) to announce his newborn grandson’s arrival.
Jackson’s eldest daughter, Mattie Jackson Smith, welcomed Baby No. 1. She was first to share photos of her son, Wesley Alan Smith, on Thursday (June 27), one week after his birth. The beloved country star added in his own post on Instagram that he and his wife of more than four decades, Denise, “are so happy to announce the arrival of our grandson Wesley Alan Smith. Proud parents [Mattie Jackson Smith] and Connor Smith welcomed Wes into the world on June 20, 2024.”
Jackson Smith said her son’s name is a nod to both Smith’s grandfather (Wesley) and her own father (Alan).
“Wesley Alan Smith joined our little family on June 20th, the absolute best birthday gift I could have ever imagined,” Jackson Smith said when she announced her son’s arrival. “There is no greater honor in life than being chosen by God to be your mom. And no sweeter joy than watching your daddy adore you and protect you already.”
Wesley Alan is the “Remember When” artist’s second grandson. Jackson’s middle daughter, Ali Bradshaw, welcomed her first child in December 2022. Jackson announced at that time that his grandson, Jackson Alvie, was born shortly before he and Denise celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. He said he was “so happy that this little guy has made us grandparents!” Jackson said “blessings are overflowing in our growing family,” who Jackson Smith announced her pregnancy. He added that he and Denise were “thrilled for our second grandson to arrive in June…and can’t wait to meet the next addition to our family.”
