The full version of Kacey Musgraves’ cover of a classic Elvis Presley song has arrived, fulfilling a longtime dream for the country artist. She shared on Instagram when she debuted the song on Thursday (June 23): “It has long been a dream of mine to work with the great [Baz Luhrmann] in some way, and it was such a treat helping to bring his vision to life and recording this iconic love song - a love song that, to me, has so much sadness behind it. 🖤 ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’ is out everywhere now on the soundtrack for the new [Elvis movie].”

Luhrmann, who directed the soon-to-release biopic, highlighted Musgraves’ cover on his own social media channels, captioning: “How beautiful is Kacey’s rendition of ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’.” Fans couldn’t help falling in love with Musgraves’ spin on Presley’s 1960s song, gushing over her “gorgeous” vocals on the “hauntingly beautiful” track. “I’m not crying…you’re crying…,” one commented. Another said, “I just BAWLED my eyes out.”

“Re-imagining one of the most iconic songs in history was such an honor and adventure,” Musgraves previously said, sharing a snippet of her first take of the song. “This is one of those songs that will always stand the test of flash and trends. One that feels like there couldn’t possibly have been a time when it didn’t exist.”

Elvis aims to capture the music legend’s life, beginning with his childhood beginnings in Mississippi to superstardom in Las Vegas. It’s set to release Friday (June 24). Listen to Musgraves’ version of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” here:
