Verizon is committed to bringing folks together virtually, of course, and helping small businesses amid the pandemic.
On Monday (February 1), Verizon announced their upcoming Big Concert for Small Business livestream event, which will air after the NFL showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at 11 PM ET. The Roc Nation-produced event, which will be hosted by Tiffany Haddish, will feature performances by Alicia Keys, Brandi Carlile, Brittany Howard, Christina Aguilera, Eric Church, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Luke Bryan and Miley Cyrus. It’ll be available to stream on various platforms, including Today's Mix on iHeartRadio, Yahoo, Fios, @Verizon on Twitter, Twitch, YouTube and TikTok.
"For small business owners today, we know that opening a digital front door is as important as a physical one," Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business, said in a statement. "This multi-year effort underscores the role financial assistance, technology and training will play in rebuilding small businesses for both short-term and long-term economic recovery."
It's all part of Verizon's multi-year commitment to bringing one million small businesses forward by 2030 with resources to help them prosper in the digital space. Additionally, the brand is committing $10 million to small business support through the nonprofit Local Initiatives Support Corporation, with a focus on small business owners in underserved communities.
For Sunday’s festivity, Verizon is asking the public to share what local small businesses they can't live without. From now until the big game, users can tag their favorite small business on Twitter using #BigConcertSmallBiz for some virtual love during Verizon's all-star concert. Users can also text SMALLBIZ to 20222 to make a one-time donation of $10 to LISC.
