Thomas Rhett Hopes To Focus On Deeper Meaning of Christmas With His Family

Thomas Rhett

Thomas Rhett loves all the festivity and celebration that surrounds Christmas, especially now that he has kids in his house, but he also has hopes that his family will be able to celebrate the giving spirit of Christmas in a different way.  “Not that I’m mad about the way that I grew up,” says Thomas, “but I do think there’s a lot of us that really just look at Christmas in the wrong light. And so yeah, we definitely want to get them what they want and get their gifts and talk about Santa Claus and all that kind of mess. But I really, from a young age, would love to try to ingrain in their heads, like, what Christmas truly is.”

Thomas realizes that taking the spotlight off Santa Claus and the gifts at Christmas may be easier said than done, but he says, “I know a lot of families that don’t even do gifts anymore and literally they go out and, like, serve on Christmas Day. In theory, that sounds super cool. I’d hope that we can as a family get to a point where that is what Christmas is to our family rather than all the stuff.

2018 in general has been the best present ever for Thomas Rhett, between #1 songs, a highly successful Life Changes album, a successful tour, multiple awards, and having his latest song, “Sixteen,” in the top ten and climbing the charts.
